SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA

We were very happy to join our friends, Jeff and Jessie, to celebrate their marriage in Arizona.  After a long ole flight with a 6 month old we were so grateful for the incredible love we were shown. A good friend’s parents not only picked us up from the airport but brought us a carseat and stroller to borrow in addition to snacks and diapers. When we arrived at our (incredibly beautiful) resort, my best friend was waiting for us. She had flown in from Minnesota to spend time with us and to help watch the baby as we attended wedding festivities. The wedding was beautiful — Parker gave a lovely toast as best man and the dance quickly turned into a rave which was fitting for the bride and groom. As we live so far away now, we do not always get to attend all the weddings and other special life events of our friends and family. The times we do get to attend make it even more wonderful. It was so nice to catch up with friends and really special for them to meet Evelyn. It was also a nice surprise to get to see so many unique desert plants in springtime bloom. The girls’ day trip to Taliesin West gave an even better view of the landscape. We had a great time touring Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and school. It was a bucket list kind of item for Rachel in particular and very cool to see more of his work and learn about the process. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo poolside before saying goodbye to Becca and heading on to our next adventure. All in all, a great way to start our trip around the world.
