AROUND THE WORLD
May | June 2019
For years we have dreamed about having our own little traveling baby. Every new city we visited was inevitably accompanied with many we-can’t-wait-to-do-this-with-a-babyisms. Now here we are, with a real life traveling baby. And oh what a traveler she is.
We made the decision to use the second half of Parker’s parental leave when Evelyn was a bit older. We wanted to enjoy time together as a family without being super sleep deprived. A good friend was getting married in Arizona and so it was settled — we were taking the long way home. We plotted out our travels that would take us across three continents in five weeks… about 21,000+ miles in total.

We changed diapers in interesting places, were constantly on the look out for a comfortable place to sit and nurse, wore Evelyn more than she rode in her stroller, were followed around by baby fan clubs, hauled a couple hundred pounds of luggage around, ate some incredible food and walked and walked and walked. No one said that traveling with a 6 month old would be easy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We could never fully express what an incredible adventure this was. Five weeks doing what we love best – traveling to new places, eating new foods, experiencing new cultures – but this time with a baby. It was a long time to be on the road but we had everything we needed because we had each other. Cheers to the first of many many adventures with our traveling girl.
But I’ll tell you the reason you couldn’t get home
Cause it’s nowhere you’ve been
And it’s nowhere you’re going
Home is only a feeling you get in your mind
From the people you love and you travel beside
