ESTORIL

ESTORIL, PORTUGAL
LISBON, PORTUGAL

08.11.2019 – 19.11.2019

I recently began a training program to become a Creighton Model FertilityCare Practitioner. This means that I will be teaching women and couples how to use the FertilityCare system. “A scientific and professional approach that reaches to the very heart of the woman’s health care needs and supports a culture of life.” (I’m joining a small but lovely team in Switzerland www.fertilitycare.ch)  The education program kicked off with a week and a half in Portugal, so we set off for Estoril – a beach town outside of Lisbon. This was a big deal for me to be away from Evelyn for such a long stretch as we typically spend all day, every day together.

While I sat in a classroom for long, full days of training. peaking at the ocean through the break room window, the pit crew (my Mom and her amazing friend, Beth, who flew in for part of our time) kept things up and running so Parker could continue to work. They did some adventuring and walks along the beach and drank delicious wines while I learned the ins and outs of the female reproductive system. There is a lot of Portugal left unexplored. On our next trip back we hope to do some more adventuring around when my classes are finished.

I could not be more excited for this new “career change.” It was very inspiring to be connected with so many women who are passionate about helping women. They came from far and wide across Europe – Portugal, Hungary, France, Belgium, Austria, Croatia, Luxembourg, and me, from Switzerland. Training will continue for the next 15 months and we will return to Portugal in May for a second round of classes. I am humbled and grateful for the support I continue to receive from friends and family – thank you to you all – it means so very much. I truly believe this is what I am called to do and it’s a privilege to  be starting on this journey.

Where there is love
there is peace
there is unity
there is joy.
– St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
