Basel, Switzerland

20.10.2017

We spent a short afternoon stopping through Basel. This city lies along the Rhine River in northwest Switzerland where the Swiss, German, and French boarders meet. Basel is known for its many museums but we only had time to visit the paper and printmaking museum located in an old paper mill right along the river. Parker was happy to check another Swiss canton (state) off our list! It is always fun to visit new parts of Switzerland and experience how quickly the language changes in this tiny country.

  1. That’s the exact Observation Wheel we build at Chance Rides. We licensed the design. The inventor lives in Appenzell, Switzerland.

Apparently the fair it was being set up for, the Basel Autumn Fair, is the oldest fair in Switzerland, beginning in 1471…according to Parker’s employer.
